Easy Teriyaki Chicken
This teriyaki chicken is so much faster and healthier than takeout.
Ingredients:
FOR THE SAUCE
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 1/2 Tablespoon honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
FOR THE CHICKEN
1 Tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Sesame seeds, optional for garnish
Sliced green onions, optional for garnish
4 cups steamed white rice, for serving
2 cups cooked broccoli florets, optional for serving
Directions:
Make the sauce: In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, honey, sugar, garlic, and ginger. Whisk until smooth.
In a large skillet, over medium heat, heat oil. Add chicken to skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook until golden and almost cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
Pour sauce over chicken and simmer until sauce has thickened slightly and chicken is cooked through.
Serve over rice (with optional broccoli, if desired)
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
