Smothered Pork Chops
You will absolutely love these pork chops smothered with rich onion gravy!
Ingredients:
4 large pork chops
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 ½ tablespoons flour
1 sliced yellow onion
5 minced cloves garlic
¼ cup water
¼ cup heavy cream
1 ¾ cups chicken broth
Salt and pepper
Directions:
Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning on both sides.
Heat the oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet.
Cook the pork on both sides for 5 minutes each. Remove the pork from the heat.
Melt the butter in the skillet and lower the heat to medium.
Add the onion and garlic. Cook for 10 minutes with a pinch of salt.
Add the flour. Cook for 2 minutes.
Add the broth and stir everything together.
Pour in the cream and water. Stir and bring the sauce to a simmer. Lower the heat to low settings and cook for 15 minutes.
Add pork chops back to pan to coat with the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper, as needed.
