Old Fashioned Custard Pie


Classic custard pie is perfect plain, but awesome with some fresh berries and whipping cream!

Ingredients:

1 deep dish pie crust 3 large eggs 1/2 cup of sugar 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg 2 2/3 cups of milk 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Beat your eggs slightly, then add sugar, salt, nutmeg, vanilla and milk.

Beat well and poor into the unbaked pie shell.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool before serving.

PIE CRUST CALLED CRISCO PASTRY "This is very Flaky" 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/4 teaspoons salt 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled and cubed 3/4 cup vegetable shortening, chilled 3/4 cup ice water Mix Crisco and flour into a deep dish, cut in Crisco. Add 3 Tablespoons of water. Form a ball. Roll out and line your pie pan. This makes two pie shells.

Or if in a hurry use a deep dish store bought crusts!
