Spaghetti with meat sauce


Classic Italian dish with a richly flavored, meaty sauce.

The BEST homemade meat sauce has both beef and Italian sausage. It comes together with easy pantry ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1 pound Italian sausage

1 large onion, diced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 Tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 (16 ounce) cans tomato sauce

1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

1 – 2 (7 ounce) can(s) sliced mushrooms, optional

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 Tablespoon oregano

1 teaspoon basil

2 teaspoons paprika

12 ounces spaghetti pasta, cooked

Directions:

Combine ground beef, sausage, onion, minced garlic, salt and pepper in a large saucepan. Cook and stir until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain grease.

Stir tomato sauce into the pan. Add optional mushrooms if using.

Season with garlic powder, oregano, basil and paprika.

Simmer spaghetti sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve over cooked pasta.
