Award Winning Chili Beans


This recipe won a chili cook-off...taste and you will see why!!!

Ingredients:

2 pounds ground beef or ground turkey

2 onions, diced

1 green bell pepper, finely diced

1 Tablespoon jalapeno, finely diced

2 Tablespoons garlic, minced

2 (10 ounce) cans Mexican-style tomatoes (like Rotel)

2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce

2 Tablespoons cumin

2 Tablespoons chili powder

1 Tablespoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

2 (14 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 1/2 cups water

Optional Toppings

Cheddar cheese

Green onion

Sour cream

Directions:

Cook ground meat with onions, peppers, and garlic in dutch oven; drain excess grease.

Add tomatoes, seasonings, and water, bring to a boil.

Add beans, cover and simmer 1-2 hours.

Serve with desired toppings.
