How To Make Perfect Bacon in the Oven
No more splattering or cooking in multiple pans in order to cook enough for entire family / group
Ingredients:
1 pound bacon
Instructions:
Preheat to 400°F.
I cut my bacon in half as I was using for breakfast sandwiches and cooks just a little quicker.
Lay the bacon on the baking sheet in a single layer. Use a second sheet, if needed. I used thick cut bacon (although wasn’t too thick) so one sheet was enough.
Note: For easiest cleanup, line baking sheet with aluminum foil. Let the grease solidify on the baking sheet, then crumple the foil around it and discard. Not pictured here because I have great commercial non-stick baking sheets that makes cleanup a breeze and used bacon grease for cooking something else.
Bake until the bacon is deep golden-brown and crispy, 12 to 18 minutes. Exact baking time will depend on the thickness of the bacon and how crispy you like it. Begin checking around 12 minutes to monitor how quickly the bacon is cooking. If cut bacon pieces in half, check after 10 minutes.
Pour off the bacon grease as needed so the bacon isn't totally submerged in grease.
Remove the bacon from the oven and use tongs to transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain and finish crisping.
